My Homestay Services
My Homestay is a personalised homestay agency that is fully committed to providing the best possible homestay experience.
We provide quality homestay and share accommodation placement on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. This specialised service caters to students, holidaymakers, international travelers, study and sporting groups from throughout the world.
All our host families have been carefully selected by My Homestay and all hold a Blue Card. (the Blue Card is issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian following a police check.) With all accommodation offered, either homestay or shared house, a representative of My Homestay has visited the premises, initiated Police Check procedures and has recorded the accommodation as being suitable for international and domestic visitors. Host families are visited and checked at least once every six months.
Many of our host parents are teachers, social workers, nurses, professional people who have also traveled extensively themselves. They understand what it feels like to be away from home and so will do their best to make you feel “at home” in their house.
We provide various accommodation options to suit your needs, as well as giving information sessions on Australian culture and lifestyle.
We can assist students in enrolling at the English language school of their choice, or students can be placed with a host family who can give private English lessons.
It is our aim to ensure that you are well-looked after during your stay on the Gold Coast.

Margaret Imai
Director /Placement Coordinator
Margaret Imai is the Director of My Homestay. Prior to starting the company in 2003, Margaret has been teaching Japanese language at Griffith University on the Gold Coast for fifteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies), Diploma of Education, and a Graduate Certificate in T.E.S.O.L.
Dot Tye
Office Manager /Accounts
Dot has been with My Homestay since its inception. She was previously the Office Manager with a large multinational company in the communications industry in Sydney and has expertise in the office environment. Dot was a Host for My Homestay and many other agencies on the Gold Coast.
